Kano Scholars Assembly Launches 484-Ward Structure to Promote Governor Abba’s Policies Ahead of 2027 Elections

KANO, Nigeria — The Kano State Scholars Assembly has unveiled a comprehensive 484-ward organizational structure aimed at strengthening grassroots engagement and promoting the achievements and policies of Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf across Kano State ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The initiative was announced during a strategic meeting of the Assembly's leadership, where participants deliberated on measures to support Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf and other political candidates in the lead-up to the next electoral cycle.

According to attendees, the newly established structure will serve as a platform for effectively disseminating government policies, programmes, and developmental achievements to communities across all wards in the state. The arrangement is also expected to enhance direct interaction between citizens and stakeholders at the grassroots level, ensuring that government messages reach the people more efficiently.

The meeting further emphasized the importance of voter education and civic participation, with participants discussing strategies to encourage residents to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs) and actively engage in the democratic process.

Stakeholders also reviewed political mobilization strategies and election preparedness plans ahead of the 2027 general elections, stressing the need for sustained public enlightenment campaigns.

The scholars highlighted the critical role of education, awareness, and community engagement in promoting the developmental initiatives being implemented by the Kano State Government across various sectors.

Among the prominent personalities who attended the meeting were Professor Zahraddeen Sufyanu (Nassarawa), Dr. Nafi’u Sanda, Dr. Faruq Sadi, Dr. Saifullahi Shehu Imam, Dr. Abdullahi H. Shehu, and Dr. Tasi’u Magaji.

Others included Engr. Dr. Mukhtar Nuhu Yahaya (Gwale), Dr. Idris (Karaye), Dr. Balarabe Wada (Gezawa), Dr. Muhammad Abdullahi (Fagge), and Engr. Rabiu Saleh (Makoda), who participated in his capacity as the Assembly’s Secretary.

The meeting also attracted chairmen and secretaries of the Assembly from several local government areas, all of whom pledged to work collectively toward achieving the objectives outlined during the gathering as preparations for the 2027 elections continue.
