Kano Converts Waste Into Modern Fertiliser, Says Refuse Management Agency

Kano, Nigeria — The Chairman of the Kano State Refuse Management and Sanitation Board (REMASAB), Dr. Muhammad S. Khalil, has announced that a waste recycling company in Ɗorayi has commenced the production of modern fertiliser by converting solid waste into valuable agricultural products.

Dr. Khalil disclosed that the company, located in the Ɗorayi area of Kano, has already begun processing waste materials into high-quality organic fertiliser, describing the initiative as a major milestone in the state's efforts to promote environmental sustainability and improve waste management.

According to him, the project demonstrates how proper waste recycling can transform refuse into economically valuable products while addressing environmental challenges associated with indiscriminate waste disposal.

He noted that the initiative is expected to support agricultural productivity by providing farmers with affordable and environmentally friendly fertiliser, while also creating employment opportunities and contributing to a cleaner and healthier Kano.
