Breaking: Bandits Abduct Over 50 People During Peace Meeting in Zamfara
Maradun, Zamfara State – Armed bandits have reportedly abducted more than 50 people who had gone to hold peace talks with them in Magamin Diddi, a community in Maradun Local Government Area of Zamfara State.
The shocking incident has heightened concerns over the worsening security situation in the state, where communities continue to grapple with frequent attacks, kidnappings, and violent raids by criminal gangs.
According to reports, the victims were part of a delegation that visited the bandits in an effort to negotiate peace and seek an end to persistent attacks affecting local communities. However, the meeting reportedly took a tragic turn when the armed men seized the visitors and took them away to an undisclosed location.
Hon. Husaini Bello, the Councillor representing Faru-Magam Ward in Maradun Local Government Area, confirmed the incident. He disclosed that more than 50 individuals were kidnapped during the encounter, though further details regarding their identities and current whereabouts remain unclear.
The mass abduction has sent shockwaves across the affected communities, with residents expressing fear and uncertainty over the fate of the victims.
