Tragedy in Zamfara as Bandits Kidnap, Kill Local Government Director and Councillor

A fresh wave of insecurity has hit Zamfara State following the tragic killing of Hon. Jamilu Sani Jangebe, the Director of Planning in Talata Mafara Local Government Area, alongside the Councillor representing Jangebe Ward.

According to reports, the victims were abducted by suspected bandits before they were later killed by their captors, throwing the local community into mourning and renewed fear.

The incident, which occurred in Zamfara State, has sparked outrage among residents and political stakeholders, many of whom described the attack as heartbreaking and barbaric.

Hon. Jamilu Sani Jangebe was widely known for his role in grassroots administration and development efforts within Talata Mafara Local Government, while the slain councillor was regarded as a close representative of the people at the ward level.

The latest attack adds to the growing security concerns in Zamfara and other parts of Northwestern Nigeria, where communities continue to grapple with persistent banditry, kidnappings, and violent attacks.
