Breaking: PDP Confirms Professor Ali Pantami as Gombe Governorship Candidate for 2027

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has officially confirmed Isa Ali Pantami as its governorship candidate for the 2027 election in Gombe State.

The confirmation followed the endorsement of key stakeholders within the party during the primary election held on Tuesday in Gombe.

Chairman of the Electoral Committee, Gregory Yenlong, declared Professor Pantami the winner of the primary after emerging as the sole aspirant in the contest.

The United States has formally withdrawn from the World Health Organization (WHO), a move that strips the UN health agency of one of its largest financial contributors and marks a major shift in global health diplomacy. The withdrawal follows an executive order signed a year ago by US President Donald Trump, who repeatedly accused the WHO of being overly “China-centric” in its handling of the Covid-19 pandemic.
