Binani, Ishaku Abbo Emerge as Major Threat to APC in Adamawa as ADC Loses Grip
Fresh political developments in Adamawa State suggest growing pressure on both the All Progressives Congress (APC) and the African Democratic Congress (ADC) following controversies surrounding recent primary elections and alleged imposition of candidates.
Reports from across the state indicate that the internal crisis has triggered widespread dissatisfaction among party loyalists, with several members reportedly dumping their political camps in protest over what they described as unfair processes during the selection of candidates.
Political observers say the situation is gradually reshaping the political landscape ahead of future elections, as many aggrieved supporters are now aligning with alternative political platforms believed to be associated with former Senator Ishaku Abbo and prominent politician Aishatu Dahiru Ahmed Binani.
According to analysts, a significant number of defectors are finding refuge in the Labour Party (LP), widely linked to Ishaku Abbo’s political structure, as well as the National Democratic Coalition (NDC), which is said to enjoy the backing of Binani’s loyalists.
The emerging realignments are reportedly weakening the influence of both APC and ADC in Adamawa, with fears that continued internal disputes could further divide their support base and alter the balance of power in the state.
