Zamfara Governor Dauda Lawal Wins “Governor of the Year” Award in London

Zamfara state Governor, Dauda Lawal, has been honoured with the prestigious “Governor of the Year” award by during a high-profile ceremony held in London.

According to the organisers, the award was presented in recognition of Governor Lawal’s administration’s commitment to improving public services across the state, with particular emphasis on reforms in the education sector and the ongoing renovation and rehabilitation of schools throughout Zamfara.

Triangle Media International commended the governor for what it described as determined efforts to rebuild and reposition the state despite the significant challenges inherited from the previous administration. The organisation noted that the government’s policies have shown measurable progress in restoring confidence in governance and enhancing service delivery to citizens.

Observers at the event described the honour as a major international recognition of the administration’s reform agenda, especially at a time when Zamfara continues to grapple with security and developmental challenges.

Governor Lawal, who assumed office in 2023, has repeatedly pledged to prioritise education, infrastructure, and institutional reforms as key pillars of his government’s recovery strategy for the state.
