Water Crisis: Governor Abba Vows 60% Supply for Kano Within Two Months
Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf made the statement during an inspection visit to the Challawa Water Treatment Plant, explaining that persistent complaints from residents over water shortages prompted him to personally assess the facility’s condition. He noted that the visit was conducted alongside technical experts from China to evaluate the situation firsthand.
Governor Yusuf also pledged to supply approximately 60 percent of the potable water needs of residents in metropolitan Kano within the next two months. He further disclosed that the new company engaged for the project has been given a one-week deadline to complete its assessment report on how to address the water supply challenges before any formal agreement is signed.
