New Combat Aircraft Unveiled in Gusau as Governor Dauda Lawal Strengthens Fight Against Banditry

Fresh momentum has been injected into the fight against insecurity in Zamfara State following the presentation of new military aviation equipment, including an armed combat aircraft, with officials explaining how the assets will enhance surveillance operations and intensify the battle against bandits.

The development occurred at the airport in Gusau, where Governor Dauda Lawal received a high-level delegation from the Nigerian Air Force as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen security collaboration in the state.

During the visit, security officials showcased newly deployed air assets, including a weaponized aircraft designed to support intelligence gathering, aerial surveillance, and rapid-response operations against armed criminal groups operating in remote areas of the state. The equipment is expected to significantly improve operational efficiency and provide timely support to ground forces.

Governor Lawal commended the Federal Government for its continued commitment to restoring peace in Zamfara and reaffirmed his administration’s unwavering support for security agencies working tirelessly to protect lives and property.

He emphasized that the introduction of the new aircraft and related equipment would enhance response speed, boost coordination among security forces, and accelerate efforts to reclaim communities affected by banditry.

Security analysts believe the move represents a strategic step toward stabilizing the region, as enhanced air power remains a critical component in modern counterinsurgency and anti-banditry operations across Nigeria’s northwest.
