NDC Leaders Visit Kwankwaso in Abuja, Seek His Return to Party Ahead of 2027 Political Realignments

Prominent Kwankwasiyya leader and former Kano State Governor, Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, on Tuesday hosted top officials of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) at his residence in Abuja, in a high-level political engagement that has sparked fresh realignment discussions within Nigeria’s opposition space.

The visiting delegation included the Deputy National Chairman of the NDC, Muhammad Rabiu Sabo Bakin Zuwo, and the party’s National Publicity Secretary, Ibrahim Ahmad Waya.

During the meeting, the NDC leaders formally appealed to Senator Kwankwaso to return to the party, stressing the need for a united front to challenge and end what they described as the continued administration of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the coming elections.

Speaking during the visit, Muhammad Rabiu Sabo Bakin Zuwo expressed concern over the internal crisis within the African Democratic Congress (ADC), noting that the instability makes it unsuitable for Kwankwaso’s continued association.

He further assured that the NDC is fully prepared to welcome Kwankwaso and his large base of supporters, adding that the party is ready to accommodate them and provide all necessary political space and opportunities within its structure.

The development is seen as part of ongoing behind-the-scenes political negotiations as key figures position themselves ahead of future electoral contests.
