BREAKING: Iranian Missiles Suspected of Carrying Cluster Warheads Spotted Over Central Israel

Central Israel — Sunday Evening:
Tension spiked across Israel on Sunday as missiles believed to be carrying cluster munitions were seen streaking across the skies of central Israel during Iran’s latest large-scale barrage. Air-raid sirens wailed throughout the Greater Tel Aviv area as residents rushed into shelters amid reports of heavy interceptions and falling debris.

According to security sources, some of the incoming Iranian ballistic missiles appeared to be equipped with cluster-type warheads—weapons designed to disperse dozens of smaller explosive bomblets over a wide radius. Such munitions pose a high risk to civilian populations due to their unpredictable spread and the danger of unexploded submunitions.

Witnesses in Tel Aviv, Ramat Gan, Bat Yam, Rehovot, and Azor reported bright flashes in the sky as Israel’s air-defense systems engaged the projectiles. The Home Front Command confirmed that residents should remain alert for potential submunition debris following the interceptions.

Though authorities say most of the missiles were successfully intercepted, emergency services were deployed across multiple central districts to inspect possible impact zones and warn residents against approaching unidentified objects or fragments.

The incident marked another dramatic escalation in the ongoing confrontation between Iran and Israel, coming just days after Tehran vowed further retaliation for recent U.S.–Israeli strikes on Iranian targets.

Officials are continuing assessments to determine the exact types of warheads used in the attack. If confirmed, the use of cluster munitions against urban areas is likely to draw international condemnation due to their widely recognized humanitarian risks.

This remains a developing story.
