๐Ÿ›‘ BREAKING: An Austin Mass Shooting May Be Linked to U.S/Israel Strike on Iran — FBI Probing Possible Motive

Authorities in the United States have opened a major investigation into whether the deadly mass shooting in Austin, Texas on Sunday was influenced by the recent U.S.–Israeli strike on Iran, according to information shared with CNN by federal sources.

The tragic incident unfolded outside a crowded bar along West Sixth Street — one of Austin’s busiest nightlife districts — where a gunman suddenly opened fire on civilians.

Three people were killed, including the attacker. Fourteen others suffered gunshot wounds, with several in critical condition. Police arrived within a minute and fatally shot the suspect during the confrontation.

Who Was the Suspect?
Law enforcement officials identified the attacker as a naturalized U.S. citizen originally from Senegal. Investigators found several items on him and in his vehicle that raised concerns, including clothing with religious slogans and materials referencing Iran.

Because of these findings, the FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force has joined the investigation.

Possible Link to Iran Strike
Federal investigators were exploring whether the suspect was motivated by anger over the U.S.–Israeli strike on Iran, which occurred shortly before the shooting. Officials stressed that the motive has not yet been confirmed, but the theory is being treated seriously due to:

Local police and the FBI continued to assess digital evidence, surveillance footage, and the suspect’s communications.

The attack had left the city shaken, especially as it prepared for a series of major public events. Residents had been urged to remain calm but vigilant as authorities deepen their investigation.
