PDP Dissolves Kano Executive Committee

The crisis within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has deepened as the faction loyal to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, has announced the dissolution of the party’s Kano State Executive Committee.

In an official statement issued by the National Publicity Secretary of the party, Jungudo Haruna Mohammed, the decision followed the approval of the PDP National Caretaker Committee, which resolved to set up an interim leadership to oversee party affairs in the state.

According to the statement, the caretaker committee will steer the activities of the party for 30 days or until a new state chairman is elected. The interim leadership is mandated to stabilize internal issues, reconcile aggrieved members, and restructure party operations in line with its constitutional provisions.

The development comes amid growing internal disputes that have polarized the national leadership of the PDP, leading to divisions between rival factions.
