“Internal Sabotage”: ADC Reveals Shocking Betrayal by Polling Agents in FCT Polls

ADC has admitted that some of its polling unit agents were compromised during Saturday’s Area Council elections, a development the party says contributed to its disappointing performance at the polls.

In a statement released on Sunday, the party expressed deep concern over what it described as “internal sabotage,” revealing that several accredited agents failed to carry out their duties with the expected level of integrity and commitment.

According to the ADC, some polling agents abandoned their posts, while others failed to properly transmit or defend the party’s results during collation. The party maintained that this breakdown in internal coordination severely affected its chances across multiple Area Councils.

The leadership also disclosed that it would launch a thorough investigation to identify and sanction those involved in the alleged compromise. Strengthening training, monitoring, and evaluation mechanisms for polling agents is now a top priority, the party added.

Despite the setback, the ADC reaffirmed its confidence in democratic processes and insisted that the election outcome did not reflect the party’s true strength or rising support base within the FCT. The party pledged to bounce back stronger in subsequent elections.
