El-Rufai Detained Overnight at ICPC as EFCC, DSS Prepare to Take Over Investigation

Former Kaduna Governor Nasir El-Rufai has spent the night at the ICPC headquarters after hours of intensive interrogation over alleged financial misconduct.

Security sources say the EFCC and DSS are now on standby, preparing to take over the case depending on ICPC findings, signaling a deepening multi-agency probe.

This development comes barely a day after El-Rufai accused NSA Nuhu Ribadu on Arise TV of using the ICPC as “personal tool” against him.

Tension is rising in Abuja as investigations broaden and security agencies position themselves for the next phase.

The United States has formally withdrawn from the World Health Organization (WHO), a move that strips the UN health agency of one of its largest financial contributors and marks a major shift in global health diplomacy.
