BREAKING: Sultan Abubakar Sa'ad Won't Make Moon-sighting Announcement This Year

Reliable sources from the palace of Mai Alfarma Sarkin Musulmi Alhaji Sa’ad Abubakar have confirmed that the Sultan will not personally announce the sighting of the Ramadan crescent this year, as he is currently outside .

According to palace insiders, the responsibility of delivering the official national announcement has been delegated to , who will speak on behalf of the Sultan.

The moon-sighting announcement is a significant annual event for millions of Nigerian Muslims, marking the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan. With the Sultan away, the Shehu of Borno—one of the most respected traditional and Islamic leaders in the country—will step in to ensure continuity and maintain the tradition of a unified national declaration.

A final statement regarding the sighting of the crescent moon is expected once the various moon-sighting committees across the country submit their reports.
