🔥 Breaking: Kano Market Fire Destroys Over 70 Shops, 20 Timber Sheds

A devastating late-night fire has ravaged the popular Yan Katako Market in the Rijiyar Lemo area of Kano State, destroying more than 70 shops and an additional 20 timber structures, according to eyewitness accounts.

Eyewitnesses, Malam Rabiu, confirmed to newsmen that the inferno erupted late on Tuesday night, spreading rapidly through sections of the market before emergency responders and local volunteers managed to bring it under control.

“The fire broke out last night, but thankfully, it was eventually extinguished,” Rabiu recounted.

As of the time of filing this report, authorities and traders were still assessing the extent of the losses, and the full value of the destroyed property has yet to be determined.

Officials are expected to launch an investigation into the cause of the fire, while affected traders continue to count their losses in what many describe as one of the most destructive incidents to hit the market in recent times.
