BREAKING: Clintons Agree to Testify in Congressional Epstein Investigation
The decision comes just days before a planned vote to hold the couple in criminal contempt for previously refusing to appear.
The committee has requested filmed, unlimited-time depositions in February. If Bill Clinton testifies, it will be the first time a former US president has appeared before a congressional panel since 1983.
The Clintons had long resisted the summonses, calling them politically motivated, but confirmed their cooperation on Monday through Bill Clinton’s deputy chief of staff.
Following their agreement, the House postponed consideration of contempt resolutions while clarifying deposition terms.
Neither Bill nor Hillary Clinton has been accused of wrongdoing in connection with Epstein, and both deny knowledge of his criminal activities.
