Brazilian Footballer Kathellen Sousa Embraces Islam While Playing in Saudi Arabia

Former Brazil national team defender has officially embraced Islam during her time playing in Saudi Arabia, marking a deeply personal milestone that has captured global attention across the football community.

The announcement came through the women’s squad of Al Nasar which revealed that Sousa’s decision followed a journey of self-discovery and spiritual reflection. The club described her step as a “significant and meaningful transformation in her life.”

While in the Kingdom, Sousa was also able to perform Umrah, an experience that many Muslims consider spiritually profound. Her story has since resonated widely with fans and followers around the world.

In its statement, Al Nassr FC Women expressed full support for the defender, extending prayers for peace, happiness, and continued success as she begins a new chapter in her personal and spiritual life.
