Nigeria Takes Strategic Step to Strengthen Global Understanding of Its Protection Efforts for Christian Communities

In a proactive move to deepen understanding of its security efforts and foster stronger international relations, the Federal Government of Nigeria has engaged a respected U.S.-based lobbying and public affairs firm to communicate its actions in protecting Christian communities and combating violent extremism across the country. 

Under a $9 million contract executed through Kaduna-based Aster Legal on behalf of National Security Adviser Nuhu Ribadu, the Washington-based DCI Group will engage U.S. policymakers and stakeholders to share Nigeria’s perspective on recent concerns raised in Washington.

Signed on December 17, 2025, the agreement outlines a six-month engagement — with an option for extension — during which the firm will help convey the federal government’s commitment to protecting all citizens, including Christian communities, while reinforcing cooperation in ongoing efforts against jihadist groups and other security threats across West Africa. 

The contract structure ZANCEN YAU unfolded, includes a pre-payment of $4.5 million and a monthly retainer, reflecting Nigeria’s determination to ensure its narrative and actions are accurately understood by international partners. 

A reliable source told confided in ZANCEN YAU that government officials emphasize that this initiative is part of a broader diplomatic engagement strategy to sustain vital U.S. support for Nigeria’s security operations, while also showcasing the country’s active measures to protect vulnerable communities and promote peace.
