“Just As We Ended Military Rule, We Will End Tinubu’s Government” — Atiku Declares at ADC National Meeting
Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has vowed that the opposition will bring an end to the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, drawing parallels with Nigeria’s historic struggle to end military rule.
Atiku made the bold declaration while addressing party faithful at the national convention of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) held in Abuja.
Speaking to a charged audience, the former presidential candidate asserted that the same determination Nigerians used to end decades of military governance would be applied to remove the current administration through democratic means.
“Just as we successfully ended military rule in Nigeria, we will also end Tinubu’s government,” Atiku declared.
He further alleged that intimidation or interference by the Federal Government and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) would not prevent the ADC from securing victory in the 2027 general elections.
Atiku expressed confidence in the party’s growing support base nationwide, insisting that Nigerians are increasingly eager for political change ahead of the next electoral cycle.
The statement signals a potential intensification of political rivalry as opposition parties begin early mobilization strategies toward the 2027 polls, setting the stage for what analysts predict could be one of the most fiercely contested elections in Nigeria’s democratic history.
