Kano Deputy Governor Cites Reasons for Stepping Down

Kano State Deputy Governor, Aminu Abdulsalam Gwarzo, has formally resigned from his position following the issuance of an impeachment notice by the Kano State House of Assembly.

The resignation was publicly announced by the Kwankwasiyya Movement, emphasizing that the decision was taken to ensure the smooth functioning of the deputy governor’s office and to prevent unnecessary political tensions in the state.

In a statement, Gwarzo asserted his innocence regarding the allegations that prompted the impeachment notice. He also indicated that he would now dedicate his efforts to strengthening the activities and influence of the Kwankwasiyya Movement.

Political analysts say the resignation could help de-escalate the ongoing political standoff in Kano, while the state government continues to navigate the unfolding situation.
