Breaking: ADC South-South Leaders Throw Weight Behind Amaechi for Presidency!

A major political realignment is unfolding in Nigeria’s South-South region as leaders of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) have unanimously endorsed former Rivers State governor Rotimi Amaechi for the party’s 2027 presidential ticket.

The endorsement was announced by respected political elder and former APC national chairman John Odigie-Oyegun, who revealed that regional consultations among ADC leaders ended with a united decision to back Amaechi.

“We Stand Firmly Behind Him” — Odigie-Oyegun

Odigie-Oyegun said the decision reflects the confidence the South-South bloc has in Amaechi’s national appeal, administrative competence, and experience.

“We, the ADC South-South leaders, have unanimously agreed to give Rotimi Amaechi our full support for the ADC Presidential Ticket,” he said. “Our choice is based on careful assessment and the conviction that he embodies the leadership qualities Nigeria needs at this critical time.”

He added that the endorsement followed weeks of internal dialogues, strategy sessions, and evaluations across various state chapters.

Amaechi, who previously served as Nigeria’s Minister of Transportation, is widely considered one of the most influential political figures from the South-South. His entry into the ADC’s presidential race could significantly shift the nation’s political landscape as the 2027 elections draw closer.

Political observers say the move could strengthen the ADC’s national presence, potentially attracting more influential figures and widening the party’s support base.

According to party insiders, the South-South leaders will soon present their formal endorsement to the ADC national leadership as part of broader preparations for the upcoming presidential primaries.

The party is reportedly positioning itself as a credible alternative to Nigeria’s major political power blocs, banking on Amaechi’s national visibility and governance experience.
